heh, I've done that before too. In Remus' mind (and yes, I realize this didn't come through in the story), he was doing it out of friendship and brotherly love for Sirius. In his mind, the two are seperate, and he had every intention of staying with Severus in a romantic sense. He just neglected to tell Severus what his intentions were.
